Silversmith and
Jewellery Designer

About Meg...

Hi, I'm Meg, an aspiring Silversmith and jewellery designer with a passion for creating one-of-a-kind, quality work. Originally from Birmingham and now living in Edinburgh, I am currently studying Jewellery &  Silversmithing at the University of Edinburgh. Before this, I was lucky enough to have 3 years of experience with Sara Priesler at her Jewellery schools and galleries in Stratford-Upon-Avon and Birmingham, who mentored me in silversmithing and taught me much about the wider jewellery industry.

Although my main focus is on silversmithing, I use a variety of other artistic mediums to help build my craft and inspire me, including life drawing, watercolour painting, sewing, knitting and sculpting.  I use a mixture of these skills to communicate and develop my design ideas, creating little wearable pieces of art. My work is grounded in historical, natural and material-based inspirations, all merging to create whimsical and elegant pieces of jewellery. When considering a piece, my main focus is to evoke a sense of fun and joy, as I believe jewellery isn't just something we wear but a physical adornment that can convey thoughts and feelings.
