Meg Barratt is an Edinburgh-based jeweller and silversmith with a passion for pieces that have lived a little. She specialises in Victorian and Edwardian jewellery, though the shop spans many eras. Every piece is solid precious metal, individually researched and tested to confirm its authenticity, so you can buy with confidence.

Alongside the vintage collection, Meg designs and makes her own work by hand, trained in Jewellery and Silversmithing at the University of Edinburgh, as well as completing an silversmithing internship at Hamilton & Inches. She draws inspiration from how older jewellery was made, and from its historical context, aesthetics and meaning. Much of her practice is rooted in preserving traditional craftsmanship and design, and in considering how those skills can continue to inform contemporary making.

Amethyst and Pearl Lavalier Pendant

This beautiful Edwardian Lavalier pendant is set with cut amethyst gemstones and split pearls, the frame of the pendant is made with yellow and rose gold. During the time of the creation of this piece amethysts were associated with sincere affection and devotion, whilst pearls signified a new beginning.

During the time of the creation of this piece peridots were associated with t was prized as a stone of radiance, life, and perpetual light, whilst pearls signified a new beginning.

This beautiful Edwardian Lavalier pendant is set with beautiful tourmalines, the frame of the pendant is made with yellow gold. During the time of the creation of this piece green and blue tourmalines were associated with joyful, faithful, and harmonious life. The floral motif of the pendant represented youth and blossoming love.

Edwardian Ruby and Diamond Boat Ring

This beautiful 18ct yellow gold ruby and diamond boat ring was made in 1909 and hallmarked at the Chester Assay Office. It is a rare and sought after piece of jewellery history, a great example of fine Edwardian jewellery.

This Victorian Mourning Hair work Brooch is a beautiful example of the sentimentality of jewellery in the mid 19th century. The brooch has had the clasp reconstructed due to wear and tear, and comes with a pendant converter and new gold chain to allow the piece to be worn in multiple ways.
